Als wir im letzten Jahr die Serie “The Dark Crystal – Age of Resistance” auf Netflix geschaut haben, war ich auf Anhieb hin und weg! Die unglaublich liebevolle Ausstattung, das Kunsthandwerk, das hinter all dem steckt, und die gesamte Welt von Thra haben mich zurück in meine Kindheit versetzt und etwas ganz tief in mir berührt.
Da lag es dann nahe ein Fanwork meiner beiden liebsten Charaktere aufs Papier zu bringen: Grottan Gelfling Deet und Podling Paladin Hup!
Dass die Serie nicht weiter geführt wird, macht mich wirklich unendlich traurig, da ich einfach gerne noch deutlich mehr Zeit in dieser Welt verbringen und der Story folgen würde. Auch, weil ich es den Machern so sehr gewünscht hätte, ihren Traum weiter ausleben zu können. Denn das war wirklich offensichtlich (selbst ohne das Making of gesehen zu haben). Hier waren Menschen mit größter Liebe zum Detail, zu den Figuren und ihrer Welt zu Gange, die das Werk von Brian Froud, Jim Henson und Co. fortsetzen, welches diese mit dem Film “Der dunkle Kristall” 1982 begonnen hatten.
Wer also die Serie noch nicht kennt (und keine Angst vor Puppen hat ;-)), hat hier eine absolute Guck-Empfehlung! =D

When we watched the series “The Dark Crystal – Age of Resistance” on Netflix, I was instantly hooked! The unbelievably lovely equipment, the craftsmanship behind it all and the whole world of Thra took me back to my childhood and touched something very deep inside me.
So it was obvious to put a fanwork of my two favorite characters on paper: Grottan Gelfling Deet and Podling Paladin Hup!
The fact that the series will not be continued makes me very sad, because I would like to spend more time in this world and follow the story. I would have wished so much for the creators to live their dream. Because this was really obvious here (even without having seen the making of). Those were people with the greatest love for detail, for the characters and their world, who continue the work of Brian Froud, Jim Henson and Co., that they started with the movie “The Dark Crystal” in 1982.
So if you don’t know the series yet (and are not afraid of dolls ;-)), here is an absolute peek-a-boo! =D
