This painting was a private commission and a gift to a colleague of my brother. It shows her son who, according to legend, once sang a song about Erik the Red while on holiday, as whom he is now depicted. Unfortunately, the lyrics of the song have not been found, but you can still imagine Erik in this personification very well, I think. Fortunately, he had chosen a namesake song about a cool Viking and not about DJ Bobo or cheese. I’m just saying …=)
